Byte-Sized Explorers Project

Byte-Sized Explorers is a dynamic, ongoing initiative designed to empower early child care educators working with preschool and pre-kindergarten children. Through this project, educators dive into the world of computational thinking (CT), discovering how to make learning fun, engaging, and accessible—no fancy gadgets required.

The project features hands-on exploration of unplugged activities that ignite young learners’ curiosity while fostering critical social-emotional learning (SEL) skills such as teamwork, communication, and resilience. From sorting toys to creating patterns with building blocks, educators uncover innovative, resourceful strategies that are perfect for classrooms with limited resources.

Byte-Sized Explorers supports educators in integrating CT and SEL concepts into their teaching practices, equipping them with tools to inspire imagination, problem-solving, and collaboration in the next generation of learners.

Boost Learning

Boost learning in early childhood by incorporating unplugged, hands-on computational thinking activities. These engaging experiences not only stimulate cognitive development but also foster social-emotional skills essential for life. By encouraging collaboration and problem-solving, children can build resilience and empathy while having fun. Embrace the power of play to create a strong foundation for lifelong learning!

What is computational thinking (CT)?

Computational thinking is a way of solving problems step by step, like a computer would. It involves breaking a problem into smaller parts, spotting patterns, creating a plan or set of rules to solve it, and thinking logically to find solutions. It’s like learning to think like a problem-solving expert!
